The Quick Sip
One of the great Chinese teas, Keemun tea is from the Anhui region of China. This limited production selection is toasty and highly aromatic, and will be enjoyed for its deep burgundy liquor and flavour suggesting roasted sugar cane and cacao, notes favoured by knowledgeable Keemun enthusiasts.
Tea Tales
Produced in the town of Qi Men in the Anhui province, Keemun is known as ‘tea from Lion Mountain'. It is unique in tea for the oil Myrcenal, which imparts a subtle sweetness and perfume that makes it one of the great black teas of the world. Black Keemun was produced from the 1870s, very recently in Chinese tea drinking terms. As with many teas, quality can vary, with the best handmade varieties fetching handsome prices. China Blacks are lower in caffeine than Indian and Ceylon black teas.
Customer Reviews
