Earl Grey Cream

The Quick Sip
This blend of fine Ceylon Black tea has a fragrant citrus aroma and a hint of vanilla. It gets its well balanced taste from a judicious scenting with natural oil of bergamot.

Tea Tales
Earl Grey is named after the British Prime Minister, Baron Charles Grey. Legend has it, that while on a diplomatic mission to China a Mandarin confided the recipe to him, after the Baron saved his son's life. Like many wonderful stories, this simply isn't true. More likely, the oil of bergamot, from a pear shaped variety of citrus fruit (citrus bergamia) was brought over to England by British naval officers stationed in Mediterranean island of Corfu and came to be in the Earl's tea by a much less adventurous process. Earl Grey initially blended black Darjeeling or China tea, though green teas are commonly used these days as well.
